Copyright for Staff
Copyright needs to be considered in relation to a range of functions at the university. See the side menu for more detail on specific areas.
Licences
The University holds a number of key licences which enable staff and students to perform a range of activities using copyright material and works. While restrictions still apply, the licences provide for greater usage than simple reliance on the Copyright Act. The licences cover printed and online works, audio-visual material, broadcasts, and music. Detailed information on the respective licences is listed below.
CAL licence: copy/digitise 10% or one chapter of books, one journal article (to be held by the Library).
Screenrights licence: copy/digitise broadcasts (with appropriate notices attached).
Tertiary Music Licence: copy/digitise Australian-released music (central record keeping required).
